This is the boiler car initially built as a closed freight car by CAF in 1957 with number JVT-306.260. It was part of a large group of 436 units, DT 300.020–450 and DT 301.803–809, which were originally built to supply low-pressure steam heating to those passenger trains hauled by electric locomotives.
It was used until its retirement from service in 1980 and was set aside at the Vilanova Railway Museum.
