A total of approximately 790 units were built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Designed to form express trains, they were assigned to the most important trains of the era and, years later in the 1970s, were relegated to regional services until they were retired in the late 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ones known as \"Cubans\" are a total of five cars, which were purchased by the Cuban government. They were refurbished in the early 90s, equipping them with Alliance couplings, a completely new interior, and air conditioning units for the compartments.
